IN SUMMARY:

​

  • 19 Australian developed female players (not counting those who developed their tennis from birth to age 18 in another country) have broken into the top 100 in the past 30 years

​

  • Rachel McQuillan finished year end top 100 in 9 out of 13 years. A very good player rarely mentioned by anyone.

​

  • The past 18.5 years have seen just 8 Australian developed players break into the top 100 including Molik, Pratt, Stosur, Dokic, Barty, Dellacqua, Sharma and Birrell (Both Tomljanovic and Gavrilova emigrated to Australia during late teens or early twenties ). And since 2004 just 4 Australian developed female players have cracked the top 100 (Stosur, Barty, Dellacqua and Sharma)

 

  • Sam Stosur has finished year end top 100 for 15 years in a row!

 

  • Nicole Pratt finished year end top 100 in 8 out of 9 years.

 

  • Nicole Bradtke (nee Provis) finished year end top 100 in 9 out of 10 years.
